Default Vin # question

hi gang... I am new sorry for this question. I would like to find out more about a vin number before I buy a 2001 A6 4.2 . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry I am sure this has been asked a million times. I am new and need assistance fast sorry. jtv4.2 p.s. vin # WAUZL54B61N04****

If you're asking somebody to do a CARFAX for you, don't. That's not only illegal, it's not going to earn you any points on this or other Audi forums. If you're asking something else, please clarify.

Please let me clarify, I DO NOT WANT A CARFAX !!!. I have a CARFAX from the dealer. All I want to know is what do the numbers and letters stand for !!! what factory, day built, options, color, etc. Sorry I asked the question. jtv4.2

Find out where the car was serviced, and try to get the service codes for what was done to the car previously. A good dealer will do this for you.

BTW - for future reference "VIN" stands for "Vehicle Identification Number" so when you say "VIN number, you are saying Vehicle Identification Number number." That just drives me crazy. Just say VIN. We know what it is LOL!!!
