went in for timing belt and water pump. He said waterpump looks and works like brand new, didn't think it needed replaced. Have 105000 on it. Anyone else have this? Do water pumps 'age'?

There must be a million posts saying todo it all - you'll sleep better knowing that you prevented a potential problem. From an economic viewpoint, your 90% of the way to a water pump replacement when you do the timing belt so just do it.
