Front brake pad wear sensor - Page 4 - TDIClub Forums

I have a brake pad wear sensor on and it wont go away even after putting on the new pads. Looks like it was ripped off.

my car is a 99 A6 Quattro

I also attached a pic of the instrument cluster from the link

Why did you attach a completely unrelated instrument cluster??

The brake pad sensor is just a continuity check, if the connection is broke it will report the brake pad as warn and if there is a solid connection it will think there is plenty of brake pad left. You can just short the connection with a wire/splice or something (depending on whether you want to use the connector again). Keep in mind that if the wire is open/broke anywhere along the route it will report as a warn brake pad.

I'm not sure about the vag-com fix and have not come across it before (and i've done a lot with vag-com and frequently use it).
