Default X member under engine partially ripped off!

Guys

Tonight I drove out of a neighbours driveway and the centre part of their gate mechanism hit the bottom of my car very hard.

It has ripped off the plastic undertray and hit the lower steel cross member so hard that is is now a slight v shape. One side has half ripped the steel near the mounting point.

My question is: Is the cross member separate from the chassis/subframe? (it looks like it is from what I can see.) And what would the likely cost be to repair this damage? I.e. is it a simple unbolt/bolt on of the new one and a replacment undertray or is it going to be more complex than that.

Hoping for some good news. Thanks.

Its a 2006 A6 (2lr S-Line Manual box)

If you hit something hard enough to bend the cross member you seriously smacked that thing. You'll probably have to pull the engine to see the extent of the damage done.

Have been to the garage and looked at it on the ramp. The cross member is held on with 4 bolts, one if which has had the metal cross member ripped away from it. Its in a v shape and the mechanics took large hammers to it to knock it out of the way.

Replacement cross member and plastic under tray are needed. Doesnt look like any other damage.

wow, you got lucky on that one. I would have figured at least a new lower oil pan. How did you avoid the pan and hit the member haha
