XM to Sirius
Rented a car last week with Sirius and it blows away the XM service in my A6 4.2
I see where the XM tuner is mounted in the trunk.......can anyone point me in the direction as to EXACTLY what hardware I need to convert to SIRI? I want to change "yesterday".....that's how bad I think XM is compared to Sirius!
TIA

RE: XM to Sirius
I know what you mean...We have XM in our Jeep and Sirius in the house and garage...So we were able to compair the two for quite some time...For us,there was no question...Sirius hands down.So when I bought my wife her A6 I also picked up a Sirius receiver from Walmart...We bought the Roady...I think its called...It has pause, rewind and fast forward. We called Sirius from the parking lot and we were cranking tunes in about 10 minutes...You just tune your FM where there is no station, for us we use 89.1 but going across the state of Michigan and into Canada,we had to find a couple of other ares for reception...Its real easy to move from car to car...it just uses a small magnet mount sat.ant. and 12 volt cig.lighter plug which by the way is always hot in our A6 and key operated in our Jeep....We just leave it on in the A6 ...very small amount of power ....our car has sat all weekend with it on and it didnt cause any problem starting....

RE: XM to Sirius
I hear Howard Stern talk about a "brain transplant" that is available to swap out factory installed XM to Sirius. It maintains all the Sat controls on your OEM stereo.
sirius brain
the link is actually for GM vehicles, but I am sure one exists for other makers.
