Well today I spent a few hours cleaning the a8 and reclined the passenger seat all the way to reach some hard to reach places with a rag and a vacuum.

and well...now the passenger seat wont go back up. its reclined all the way, and will not go...back up.
does that make sense?

well anyways.

Any ideas? Ive tried everything. I looked under and around the seat just incase i snagged a wire or something, and nothing looked out of the ordinary.

 

on the bottom of the seats are the connectors make your they are connected right also doesnt your car have the memory seat? were you just press one button and comes to your programed seat position?

 

I would remove the four seat bolts and tilt it backwards so you can take a look at all the motors and electrical connectors. It could be that the motor will just go down and not up, which means you need a new motor.

 

Yeah I was thinkin it might be that.
How much do you think a new motor for these would cost....? Dare I ask....

 

Never replaced oneon an A8, but the A4 ones range from $150-$400 per motor. It depends on which motor it is. The recline motor should be the more expensive one un-fortunately.
