Good Afternoon A8 folks,

I hope someone can help before I take the 2004 Audi D3 into the shop tomorrow.
I was driving my 2004 Audi A8 D3 on my way back home from Savannah to Atlanta approx 248 miles. The car was driving smoothly up until the last 30 miles of the trip as the car started surging around speeds of 75 mph…the tachometer kept moving up and down slightly so I pressed the accelerator a little and it seemed to run smoothly, but the surging returned after about 10 miles.
While vehicle is stopped in Drive and Park it idles very smoothly. I also shift gears with Tiptronic, the problem remained. Just confused as to what it might be…maybe a dirty throttle body or electronic speed limiter malfunction? Please help!! Thanks

 

If the tachometer goes up down, u need to change the gearbox oil!!
Search on the web, you will find a lot of it!
