hi everyone. i'm considering a 2005 a8 with slightly over 60k miles. i was just wondering, does the 2005 a8L play dvd audio, or only cds? the awesome 5.1 surround seems a little redundant on 2 channel music files but i wasn't able to find any information regarding dvd-a compatibility
also, does the a8 play cds that i burn on my own? i know some cars have pretty bad compatibility with homemade cds, but not sure about the audi.
obviously none of this would be a deal breaker, but it'd be nice to know. thank you everyone!

 

Some of the CD changers can play MP3 CDs.
If it doesn't come with the right model you can get one for about $40 online and have Audi turn off component protection.

I've had no problem using good quality media for burning my own CDs.

No DVD support at all unless you have RSE, but you can't control that from up front.

If it has AMI you can use a thumb drive with MP3 files on it.
