Yes, 90% of electrical problems on 04 A8's are the software level. The only problem is no fault codes will be thrown for this and it makes it a huge pain in the *** for the technician to fix it because he doesn't get paid to call tech line and waste hours out of his day to fix the car. So unfortunately for you the tech will usually say that no fault codes were registered and its all good. As far as audi is concerned, thats how they want us to deal with it too. Un-less the customer busts the dealers ***** about it, your not gonna get anywhere unless there is a TSB for it.
