hey i have an audi a8 thats a 2006 model and i got this note in the mail saying that there is somthing wrong with the airbags is this true or is it just a stunt to get money

you're under warranty so the most you're out is $50. For $50, I'm getting my airbags checked out...

 

Thats a recall notice so it wont cost you anything. The drivers airbag will be replaced because it may not fully deploy in the event of an accident.
Most common problem with the a8 is the trunk not closing via the power close function.

 

Trunk not closing by remote? not much of a problem, is it? Never heard of airbag issue, the worst problem I experienced was a small squeal upon speedbreakers (now cured thanks to another post on this forum) in this silent car.

the A8 is THE BEST and incredibly well sorted out, fast, reliable and confortable... truly THE BEST, enjoy yours!

 

who cares what the common issues are for an '06?! If I was you, I would take the car to the dealer the second I noticed anything that could be a problem or annoyed me. Thats what the warrenty is for....... I suggest you use it as much as you need to.

 

The trunk issue is common enuf for audi to issue a tech bullitin. The airbag is a recall affecting thosands of cars.

 

does the trunk close via the remote on 2004 A8L ?

 

You can open the trunk with the remote but you have to press the button on the inside of the trunk to close it i believe, but i could be mistaken.
