Why do I have to lock the steering?

Oh yeah i forgot about the push button start, if you are using the push start button you need to hold down the engine off button to lock the steering.
Duh, brain fart auditech..... Try using your key to run it next time and it should automatically lock the second you remove the key.

When I press and hold the button the car turns off but it won't lock. After I lift my finger then it gives me the message to hold it down to lock. There must be something goofy going on. I can't think why Audi would give us all that convenience and then make us press buttons multiple times.
