Default '05 TT Roadster 3.2 Lag

I've looked at the specs for the '05 3.2 Roadster and don't see anything about a turbo. So, the car has a slight lag when I give it gas. Is that normal? It is an automatic.

The 3.2 does not have a turbo. only the 1.8s.

i don't believe it is normal, but it may just be the tranny is slow to engage.

cheers.

It is normal. The dsg transmission has the lag as it goes in to gear. It is nothing to worry about except on the UK forum it is known as the "delay of death"!

I can see how it got that name. When I first got the car I would give it gas and expected it to go. It hesitated for a second and then take off like a bat out of hell. So if you're expecting to merge into traffic and have that delay it can't be good. Now, after a couple of weeks, I've gotten used to it and know what to expect. I do love the car, the Audi is the first manufacturer that I have bought back to back. This car is a blast! Thanks for the responses, now I'm not worried that the tranny is going out.

You might experience various thumps and jerks with the DSG as well. I have never had any problem with mine but would suggest changing your fluid if you not done so. Enjoy the car! I love my 2005!
