Default 106 octane gas lol

one of my buddies is in thinkin about possibly gettin me a 5gallon container of 106 octane gas Unleaded. Would i be safe throwing that into my tank, or would i be askin for trouble??? I mean, it does sounds interesting to use, rather than jugging down a couple bottles of octane booster hahha.

If you just dumped it into your tank, you basically wasted $6/gal or so gas. You arent going to see any gains unless you have a race gas file or actually tune for it with more boost and timing, not something i think you are going to do for the short time it will be in there.

Agreed. It'll be a waste, unless you have a built race engine. I have heard that it'll make a difference in motorcycles though.

Well the only gain he would have is zero KR, so maybe free up some lost HP on a hot day, but yes, nothing much else noticeable.

I beg to differ on this i put 100oct every once in a while when my tank is real empty and boy does it make a difference it pulls so much harder and it drives alot better even after the gas runs out for some reason like it clean everything up idk that my .2

Do you normally run 87 octane?

It pulls harder because you will have zero knock, thus freeing up some lost HP that gets taken away from the timing pull. But for optimal performance, get a tune for high octane, and she will fly! Same concept with an FMIC or water/meth, you can greatly change the timing safely, to get more HP.
