Thats what I had to do to get mine open then I took the little part that broke to the dealership and repaired it myself for about 40 bucks. Much cheeper than gettting a new glovebox which was about 750 at the dealership for me.

 

Is this an issue with all of the TTs or is it just on the earlier cars? Mine's an 03'.

 

i think its for all cars. I doubt they made the swtch to something "better"

 

That sucks... I love my cars, but Audi does some lame sh*t.

 

It will only happen if you put too much stuff in the glovebox, like the owners manual and they try to shut it, that is when it breaks.

 

Mine is a 2002. Fortunately for me the Car Fax shows that the original owner had the glovebox replacedtwoyears ago. All the carfax says is "glovebox replaced". I can only assume that he/she had the same problem as what you guys are talking about. Now the only problem I have is that it flies open once in a while when I take a hard left or rightturn at speed. I guess I should consider myself lucky. This is no big deal as the glovebox is so small it barely holds the owners manuel anyway.

 

I cant even get my owners manual and my Vag-Com cable in their together, wtf?

 

you fine aslong as if it sticks you open it from the side. if you try to force it any your effed.

 

my glove box handle broke too. I'm so pissed about it.

 

i can fit my radar detector, ipod cable, owners manual book, and some pencils/pens and a pocket size calender in mine easy.
