You should be able to see around 12-14 psi.

Hope I'm not too late to help. Heres the walkthrough I used.

Boost Gauge Wlakthrough

Looks like it could be an OEM gauge. If memory serves me, I used one of the vacuum/boost lines coming right off the DV. Good luck.

i hear somewhat of a ticking coming from the motor when it is running and my check engine light is on. the code was 1128 and it was not my MAF. do you think maybe it is my intake gasket and that is why i can only build about 6psi. i was on the LIE doing about 80 and i put the peddle to the floor and it would not go past 6psi and if i press the peddle the gauge wont move unless i have it to the floor. it also is not smooth at all, it just spikes from 0-6psi and back. there is no in between. here are some pics of the guage. not the best but they should give you an idea. i used the auto-meter pro comp.

The ticking you hear is more than likely the injectors, they are very noisy on these engines. The loss of boost could be a number of things. Have you pressure tested the intake system to check for leaks? It could easily be a split boost hose,, loose connection, or any one of a number of other possible leaks.

No the Seafoam trick won't do it. A lot of times the leaks only show up under pressure. You need one of these from ModShack or you could rig something up like it.
