Catch Can Location

Catch Can Location
I added a catch can around 4 months ago. Thus far it has captured only a small amount of "crud."
I'm pleased that it hasn't passed back into my engine, however I was expecting more. How much does everyone else find in their catch can?
The actual unit is mounted slightly above the hoses, near the air filter, as I have seen in other installations. I was wondering without any filtration media, and operating only on gravity, could I still be getting gunk passing through the catch can?
Ideas? Thoughts?

On a good engine, there shouldnt be much more than a teaspoon or so of oil every oil change. If you are using a empty can, you are doing nothing to slow down the oil vapor and allowing it to turn back to a liquid = pointless

I think its stupid, its a tiny container that doesn't really compare to a proper catch-can setup; all you do is plug it into the normal PCV system where it doesn't really make a difference. A real catch can should eliminate all the OEM PCV crap while providing the car with a proper blowby filter. Compare the two:
