Default Cone filter fastening

FOr those of you who just have a cone filter at the end of your MAF, do you have it fastened to anything or does it just hang there with the MAF plugged in?

Did you see the pics in my Cone Filter Sound Clip Thread?

Mine is just clamped to the end.
Didn't need anything else. The filter came with a reducer in it, I kept it on, and it fit perfectly.

If you have problems with the filter being a cm or two too big, wrap the end of theMAF with black tape, should make for asnug fit.

No i meant more of fastening it to the car or something other than the MAF cause its pretty much just hanging there. I was one of those guys who had the vtda and took off the cover. The vtda bolted into the car but now it just hangs there swinging.

I see.
It does just kinda hang there, but it's solid enough that it doesn't move more than a half inch or so either way.
I have my stock airbox bottom though, so it might support it a little.

Ibought like a 8inch steel mounting bracket, its pre-drilled with holes... couple bucks from lowes. still has a tiny wiggle but much better than nothing!
