BTW, the reason for synthetic on the 1.8T is coking of the bearings in the turbo. Traditional oil would 'cook' in the bearingsafter shutdown, building up a heavy sludge that destroys the bearings eventually. Synthetic is designed not to burn like that, saving your bearings. The coking issue is why you're not supposed todrive hardright before you shut it down, no need to crank up the heat in the turbo and then remove its only source of lubrication and cooling. Same for that ricer move of revving the hell out of the car and immediately shutting it off to "keep the plugs clean". Nonsense.
