@ 3:27 he pours the the royal purple into a container and you should notice it is dark purple. i also remember thinking to myself, after using RP for the first time, how strange it was that it was dyed purple.
though i have to admit i don't agree with some of the claims made in the above video.

I think it's just purple for the novelty factor...
