Engine noise
i currently own an audi tt model 2001 or 2000, can't remember. In any case I've almost always had a squeaking noise coming from the right side of the engine, especially when the Air/ac is on. It goes away when i rev up the engine a little if idle and it is not noticeable when I'mdriving. In my old Audi 90 quattro, this was solved by tightening the fan belt. After a while it would come back again, but at least it had a solution. In this case, the dealership has never been able to solve the problem for me, or just ignored it. After much back and fourth they decided to change the alternator, but it didn't do much. They also tried to tighten screws that held the engine in place, the alternator housing etc...
They never mentioned anything about a possible lose belt or similar. What do you guys think could be the problem? The sound is clearly coming from the right side of the engine(passenger side), when the air is on, sometimes you can not hear it, but most times you can. Again, it goes away with a little push of the gas pedal. Any ideas?
thanks
