epc light comes on when I bump the cruise
Having a small problem with my TT occasionally. Today while cruising down the highway with the cruise set at 69 I bumped the cruise trying to run up to 70-71 since traffic was passing me like crazy in a 65mph zone. After I hit the button the epc light & overboost light came on and my car wouldnt stay at 69 & was slowly decellerating. I coasted to the side & couldnt take off....car seemed to be starved of fuel or something. So I shut it off and the lights went out started it back up & took off like normal.
Whats up with it doing that? What could be the cause? This is the 3rd time it has done this to me.
Has anybody experienced this before?

im going through a similar problem, initially the car would throw the epc light, and lose almost majority of the power. i took it to the dealer and they said it was the acceleration sensor (the module attatched to the gas pedal). i drove the car for another 2 days, and it quit completely. i went and bought the module, replaced it, and no luck. car still wont run, have 5 different codes repeatedly coming up. I dont have VAG COM, so i cant do much more. my guess is as good as yours to your situation man... my car is going to the dealer tomorrow, when i get the results back ill let ya know what they say.
My car did it again today. Was cruising home and set the cruise to about 70 and started coming up a hill where the popo like to set up radar traps on the top of the hill so I switched the cruise off for a second and let it slow down to about 66 and I put the cruise back on.
When I turned it on my car lurched forward and boost spiked a bit and then I lost almost all power.(EPC light etc. came on)...it will run but not have any power. Seeing as this is happening somewhat regularly I realized I could shut the car off in nuetral (gotta love a stick) and then restart it while still rolling at a pretty good pace. Started right back up (at 58 mph) and drove like normal and then reset the cruise to 66 mph on the other side of the hill.

The thing that really stumps me is that I have a diode & I totally disconnected the 75 valve from vacuum & disconnected the plug. How can it read overboost? Boost never topped 20psi either.
Seems to be a boost & cruise controll related issue.....maybe its the cheap mbc I am using that my car doesnt like....cant believe it took this long to occur though.
Any thoughts?
