Default Few problems with my 02 TT

My factory warrenty is about to run out in 300 miles.. I do have an extended, but have issues I would like to have fixed and wonder if anyone has had these?

1) Traction control comes on at random times. Happens once every couple of days.. I am driving down the freeway at 70.. not accelerating, slowing or turning.. just driving straight and the traction control comes on, and disables the gas pedal... I have to manually disable it to keep driving. WTF? Audi says they can't do anything about it and can't duplicate it and there is no code.. so it doesn't get fixed.

2) The windows suck.. I mean I have them fix them at EVERY service because they have minds of their own. They claim they have to adjust the pinch protector but I say disable that b@stard. Who needs it? Either way my car was just serviced and the next day the windows suck once again.

3) Every few days when i start the car for the first time it sputters and even dies sometimes. I can then start it up just normally seconds later like nothing happened. It is only the first start of the day.. then it can sit for 6-8 hours that same day and always start up fine. Again Audi cannot duplicate so I am stuck with it.

Thanks.

Traction control issue is a new one to me. Havent heard any issues with that yet. Sounds like maybe the TC computer.

As for the windows, what are they doing? Are the stuck up, or down, or when you say mind of their own do they roll up or down by themselves?

For the sputtering, its pretty standard especially if the car has set for a while. As I understand it when the car has not been started for a period of time the fuel drains back out of the fuel lines and injectors. (Because they are placed at the top of the engine) Thus when you start the car you only burn what is remaining, then the car dyes. Once you start it the second time the fuel has had a chance to be pumped back into the system, so it no longer will have an issue.

The windows go up, almost to the top, then back down.. I try again.. go almost all the way up.. then down. Then I have to manually do it. They have gotten stuck before.. I had to turn the car off then on to even be able to move them.. But that has not happened in quite some time.

The sputtering can happen even when just parking overnight?? I don't know any other FI cars that do this. As for the TC issue, how do I get the dealership to fix the damn thing?

That window thing is weird! Thats another one I havent heard of. If you want the dealership to dig into it I would say your best bet is to ask for a manager, show him how many times you have been in and say that they still have yet to fix either issue, and it doesnt matter if they can duplicate it or not, that fact is it is broke and needs to be fixed.

Try replacing your spark plugs for the stalling issue, and turn the key to on, wait for teh "OK" from the computer, and then start the car.

I had my car stall on me a few times this winter, usually on real cold days. One day it stalled, and I couldnt get it started again. Turns out, I had fouled teh plugs. I took them out, cleaned/dried them, and it started right up. Haven't really had the problem since cleaning them.

Turning the car to on and waiting for the ok gives teh car a chance to get everthing where it needs to be to start, and gives teh fuel pump a chance to pressurize the line.

THAT window thing I've never heard of. Almost sounds like you have a bad switch or something though. You put it up, it then does teh 'auto down' thing.

Never heard of that traction control problem either. All I have is ABS, so not really something I'll run across anyway.

Achttung, when you pulled your plugs how many electrodes did your plugs have. I recently bought new plugs, and speaking with the parts dealer and looking at the compatability manual we were under the opinion that the stock plugs have 3 electrodes. I was looking for a cooler plug because of my increased boost and fuel and had to go to a 4 electrode plug. Anyway when I removed the plugs, that have been in the car since purchase, they only had 1 electrode. Struck me as odd. Car runs great, and I have no issues, just curious as to what yours were.

Denso Iridiums are popular.

I'm running NGK Iridiums BKR6EIX, which are just a single armature

If you need a colder plug, go up a number, in this case, a BKR7EIX

Not cheap plugs though, cost me a little over $30 for the 4 plugs.

NGK, thats who it is. Thanks Achttung. Yep me too, Mine have four. As I said the manual said stock is 3. They didnt have 3, they only had 1 or 4. Honestly I dont notice a difference. I think I paid about the same. 30 bucks or so.
