Future Buyer with a question
Turbos over time burn out.
You have to think that fan inside a turbo is spinning at 100K rpm's at times and it super super hot. so the bearings over time get sloppy and the turbo craps out. but turbos really aren't too expensive and cake to install. Mine has 87K miles on it and i have no real shaftplay yet.
If you want a TT thats gonig to be the least amount of work get the 250HP V6 TT. it's got less wear parts then the 1.8T.
Least thats what i think. anyone who doesn't agree speak up.
Turbo cars are awesome for people who want to milk more HP for cheap if you never plan on modding your car the V6 is the way to go i think.

True, I agree, as for the 1.8t, you have the timing belt at about 60k, other than that just oil every 3-5k and you have to change the haldex fluid (quattro system) every 20k i believe but if you can change engine oil then you can change the haldex fluid just as long as you buy the wrench for the filter. (75 bucks, I believe)
Thank you very much for this information..it has been very helpful..if you dont mind I have another quesiton.. Is the 250HP V6 TT more expensive?? are they anymore difficult to find? ..also do you preferr the coupe or the roadster??
Thank you very much this information has been extremely useful,

The V6 is a 2003+ model so it's a bit newer so it might cost more where the turbo TT's have been around since 2000.
There just as easy to find i think. least around here.
The Coupe is lighter and a better performance car. Also a bit warmer in the winter with hard top.
The roadster is a better cruiser i think because you can drop the top and enjoy a warm summer days ride.
Also the V6 can take the cheaper gas where the turbo cars need the premo gas
