I have wanted to get this one [link] http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...DAVX44&tp=5684 [link] but want to try a double din conversion. I just wish they were a little more affordable (conversions).
Thats a nice stereo. But why go DD when you can get one like this for 300 ??? http://shop2.frys.com/product/567141...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

I installed this head unit in my truck, before I purchased my 2001 TT. I was planning on taking it out and installing it in my TT. My question. Since I have the concert w/6 CD changer, how will this affect my sound, since this is a BOSE system. What sound am I losing by putting in the Alpine and do I need to look into changing out the speakers to create the correct sound that the BOSE has now?
The Bose concert is a really good unit.It all depends on what you want...do you want to look at the stock unit or upgrade to an aftermarket, depends on your taste.I haven't swapped mine out yet, I'll do that after I do my engine build. As far as the speakers you can swap em out if you want "mostly if you want it to be louder", the tweets and mids sound good. Just don't go with cheap speakers.
