Your comprehensive deductible is $2500? That is really high. Are you sure you aren't thinking of your collision deductible? You need to lower that if that is the case if you can. Comprehensive is usually really cheap coverage. I keep $100 on all my cars. If something happens I'm covered... end of subject. It only raises your policy premium a little cos' it isn't based on your driving record. I feel for you man. I've been keyed a couple of times and it totally sucks.

Why does it take 10 days to get touch up paint? You'd think they would have a box full of silver touch up paint.
Anyways, I picked up a ton of detailing products today, cutting creams, polishes, sand paper, buffing pads, etc... But we won't know how good I am at getting scratches out until next week.

Yeah, I took the highest deductible I could on my comprehensive and collision, $2500. I'm going to change it to something not so ridiculous. I've been lucky and never needed to file a claim before. I'm learning the hard way I guess.

I was a detailer for a few years, so I'm fairly handy with a buffer. I have high hopes. I just need to find the time.

As for the insurance... my deductible is $2500. I used to drive a Nissan 240sx with only liability, and when I bought this car the jump in insurance was huge. I took the highest deductible to get a break. Oops

I'll put up some pictures after I work on it.
I went from a 1998 240sx to my TT, and my insurance went down. I have full coverage...

Reguardless, I hope it'll get fixed (as good as new) soon for you.

Ouch!
If buffing, and what others have mentioned doesn't work... In the detailing section there is a topic to ask a professional detailer.
I'm sure he could give you a few pointers as far as products and tools. He usually responds very quickly.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Wow, it took Santa Monica Audi over 2 weeks to get my touch up paint. I worked on the scratch last night. I'm about half done. I plan on finishing it tonight. It's already looking good. In low light and certain angles its non-existent. Pics tomorrow!

That's a long time considering you could of gone to a local auto part store, and match up the paint number.
You just have to look at the VW paint, cause, well ya know, same paint and all.
Probably would of been cheaper too! Glad your scratches are healing!

Eh.... It's not perfect, but what do you expect from touch up paint. It would look a lot better but the touch up paint just turns black when it heats up while buffing. There are 3 patches where there is no scratch, 1 good long section in the middle where its really thin and the start and end still look like crap. This should work until I can put it in a body shop.
