Default Head unit

So yesturday i got fed up with my speakers being on back order so i went to a local audio shop and bought 4 jl audios, and a 800 watt kenwood amp. The speakers are all put in, wired very nicely and out of sight, the amps mounted on the back of the rear seats and all of the wires for the wireing harnesses are connected besides one. The manual wants me to use a electro tap and tap into the wire running from the parking brake to the actual brake light inside the cluster. So my question is, which color wire from the cluster in the brake light? This seems to be the only thing holding me up from actually turning the system on. Any help would be apprieciated! thanks

if you take off the center shroud where the ebrake is theres a little button with a brown wire that you can just splice into...

Would this single wire being disconnected not allow the headunit to turn on? I have EVERYTHING plugged in to where its supposed to and ive double checked it. I know there is power getting to it from checking around with a volt meter, and the unit makes a noise of you press random buttons. Other than that, nothing happenes.

Turned out the 12v aux wire in the wire harness wasnt there so i ran a new wire and it works fine now. Also, The wire that is supposed to run to the ebrake is now just grounded behind the dash allowing me to watch dvds whenever.

That's exactly how you should do it.

Yeah, only problem is all the damn wires coming out of the clarion wont allow it to fit, so ill either have to fiddle with it more, or just have a shop make something to secure it where it is. It only needs about an inch more to fit right.

It will fit, but it's tricky to get all the wires into place. If you stuff them back left and down you could probably get it to go in just fine unless it's an extra long headunit. Took me an hour to get mine to go in right.
