Headlamp Issue
My left side headlight will turn on when I flip the headlight switch but go off a couple of minutes later. If I switch the lights off and on againit comes back on but then goes out again after a couple of minutes. Ideas?

Would it be covered under warranty then?

The headlight assembly was designed as considered 1 part. The only things that are commonly replaced seperately are the bulbs.
If you go to a dealer I'm guessing they would tell you buy a new assemlby (~$1k).
I had an issue with an ignitor in a replacement assembly I bought from ebay. I was able to use the old ignitor from my damaged headlight and fit it into the new headlight.
*noob question*
Doesn't the ignitor just ignite the bulb? Once it's lit does the ignitor keep it lit?
The reason I ask is because this is happening to me right now as well, the passenger side headlight flickers then goes out.
I just bought the car on Sunday, a 2005 180FWD TT with 42,000 miles. I bought it at Longo Toyota andthey said they would fix it free since it's within the first 30 days of purchase so thats cool but then the service guy calls me at lunch and says they can't figure out whats wrong so they are sending it to Penske Audi for diagnosis and fixing. I hope they replace the whole thing...
Does this eventually happen to both lights? Should I have them check/replace the driver side as well?
and experience / advice will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
