There is always some sort of heat coming up from the dashboard and my AC is not even on. Is something broken or do i have some setting wrong on something?

 

I've had the smae problem, only thing I can think of is that the blower motor flap can be stuck open a bit.
My flap is broken so if I use the heater only the side vents work.
Just my best guess good luck.

I think you should be able to tell if it is the flap being stuck open by doing the HVAC diagnostics. If you dont know how, its in the faq, I thinkk its push recirc + up arrow, then use temp **** to cycle through various #'s, each # reports something different. If you just use the first one, you should get a display that reads 0.0. If it gives you anything else, that cooresponds to a certain fault in the hvac system, for which i think the lookup table is also in the faq. So yeah, recirc button+up button, then push recirc button again when display switches, and see if you get 0.0 for an output. To return to normal display, use recirc+up again

 

you have a turbo inches from the firewall, and an exhaust that runs right under you. Its just the way it is.
