How to Increase Boost
if you look at how to install that controller you have to tap into the ecu. i wouldnt do that unless someone makes a harness to plug into the ecu to act as a safe guard incase you mess up the wires
CountlessVWdrivers have proven a $25 MBC and a 4.7v Diode on the MAP sensorwill do the same job, so whats your point? The Boost machine I think is geared towards people more adverse to cutting and splicing wires in the engine bay.
Theres LOTS of ways to increase boost on a 1.8T. Tricking the N75 is only part of the equation. You also have to tell the ECU the boost is still within expected paramaters or it WILL close the throttle body and/or throw you into limp mode. Wastegate creep can be fixed for free, with a 10mm wrench and some tuning know-how. Theres ways to fix surging, knock, heat soak and any other tuning issues with a little knowledge but if all you have is cash theres plenty of companies that will take it off your hands to do your thinking for you.
Stock, and even chipped programming however cant run more then 18-20psi without pulling ALOT of timingand limitng throttle angle. Stock intercoolers, even the dual setup on the 225 aren't doing you alot of good after one pull @ 18+psi with sustained pressure.

The same principals can be adapted to work on ANY turbo setup on the 1.8T

hey i point out those two threads to you.
You dont have to "trick" the n75, it can be replaced with any boost controller (leave n75 still plugged in electronically)
The 4.7v doide helps limit the ecu from reading boost over 18psi and wont close your tb or pull any timing. With water/meth injection or larger intercooler will lower iat's and wont pull timing. With a w/m injection you can even run more timing/boost due to it acting like race gas.

You get credit for the BT thread.
The other I found
, it's not as if I dont lurk on vortex as well. I much prefer thier tech approach, never posted because the TT forum isnt as good. But since I cant get on AF from work I had to register on Vortex this week. Only fair, I've been lurking on that site for years, one of the best turbo forums available IMO.
