im back to AF
Hey guys,
I haven't been on in a long time due to me being so FREAKING busy and here's some insight:
The crap:
-I've received two 6pt speeding tickets within the last month. (one of the court dates being tomorrow morning)
-I've received three different parking tickets (two from school and one that MY FRIEND GOT and thinks I should pay it even though I let him borrow it so he could so a weekend trip into the mountains :/ .... )
-My girlfriend (well, ex now) and I broke up after two years.
-Im broke... (but then again, a lot of people are...)
-I had a few friends ready to move out with me into a home but they totally left me hanging
-One of my best friends let some chick tell him lies so were not friends.
The good:
-school is starting the 17th
-I got a new job: its a paid internship at Great-West Life and Annuity (with underground and upper level parking structures for 3000 employees)
-I'm close to adopting a 8 month old AKC black lab
-I guess I can appeal these school parking tickets (I think I get like two freebies)
But now that I am going back to school and working full time, Ill be making money and not having free time to waste it all away on worthless crap. So I'm back to the forums and I plan on starting new projects for my TT to preoccupy myself.
For those who don't remember me or are new I have a:
2001 Black 225 TT Coupe:
Power:
Revo Stage 2+ tuning
MODShack Intake and MAF (not really power but... w/e)
Forge Splitter
42DD High Flow Cat
Milltek Exhaust
Handling:
Bilstien PSS9 c/o
H&R sway bar kit
C.P.T. Adjustable control arms
ECS 20MM spacer kits in the front and rear
VF engineering poly-uther mounts
front stoptech slotted rotors with the 3.2 TT brakes /w Hawk pads
Extras:
OSIR rear carbon fiber valence
AWE vented boost gauge
18" axis supermesh
hardwired Escort Passport 8500 X50 radar

That sounds pretty good. I would pass on the 12" tho, and just replace
the back 2 speakers instead. Plus, if you put a new head unit in you'll get much better sound. You can dial in a good amount of bass through those rear "subs". They have great enclosurers that's why the Bose sound good. The speakers are ****, but they have great enclosurers. The weak link being the speakers means you can probably get what you want from stock sizes and a tweak. They are in a good location, they just need an upgrade. That's my plan. Start by replacing all stock speakers with the sickest **** I can find. And it shouldn't be expensive since they are small speakers. Then buy a good headunit that will allow me to tune it with an RTA(Real Time Analizer) so I can get it sounding perfect. I don't need a **** ton of bass. Quality>Quantity

I totally agree with quality over quantity but I dont want to change out my head unit... im scared of fitment issues and my radio door closing..

Don't take this the wrong way dude, but you need to change your driving habits. You need to make stealth a new habit. I'm not sure how old you are, but when I was younger(I'll be 33 on Sunday)I racked up 11 points in the first 6 months I bought my first car(a 5.0GT). It was ALL due to me not paying attention to my surroundings, and speeding without keeping my head on a swivel. Being aware of your surroundings is huge but not everything. A couple suggestions.
.1) know when to speed. You can only safely speed within a visible range. If it's dark, your an idiot to be hauling ***(because you have NO IDEA where the cops are hiding).
.2) you don't have to drive like an old lady, you can still enjoy driving(just use good judgement). What I do is accelerate hard often, but I slow down once I get to my cruising speed(usually 5-8 over in the city/10-12 over hgwy). The one exception to this is when someone in front of me is hauling ***. Then I speed, but I go just a little bit slower than the guy in front, and give him some distance to let him take the ticket. Which leads me to the best part,#3.
.3) my hard acceleration usually pisses someone off, but since I level off my speed & settle down, that person usually. Flies by me doing around 30-40 over(ALL THE TIME)and they end up attracing attention. I've seen idiots get pulled over for this MANY times! Lol I love it because it's usually some ******* in an ******* car.
Enjoy driving dude, just drive smart enough that you can keep driving.
