Default Need advice on buying 2006 TT

So my fiance wants to buy a 2006 audi tt FWD, black. It's a great deal with only 19k on it and they are asking 18k. I wasn't sure if there are any problems with this year of the TT. I think they solved the cluster and timing belt issue by this time. Any information even on the engine and such would be appreciated.

That looks like a good deal considering it's a 2006.
However, every TT will have some issues. They're not civics.
Don't know too much about the cluster issue, but regarding the timing belt, they only "fixed" that last summer/fall if i remember right. I had my TB done in september (mine is a 2002) and the mechanic guys told me about the new TB kit audi uses with the newer waterpump etc. apparently they tried to fix it before, but it didn't do much. Then again, who knows what the new parts will do now?

Especially on something as crucial as a TB, don't wait until it's too late.
I had the job done with 23K on the clock! (interval should be 60K / 5 years)

I'm pretty sure neigher the cluster or tb issues were resloved by 2006 or even by now.

Seams like most of the tb issue was due to a mistake in the manual suggesting replacment at 105k miles, after 2003 or so the manual was changed to say 80k miles. Is that concidered resolved?? lol

When I had my cluster replaced I noticed the gas and temp gauge neatles are more transparent then the stock 2001 cluster. I guess they may have updated the cluster, but I also doubt that, because a lot of people had to replace them several times.

I read somewhere that the 1.8t is not known for sludge problems. It was a simular vw engine that was.

The 1.8T/2.0 transverse hasn't had sludging problems, at least not the transverse version (Golf, TT, Jetta,...). The longitudinal version (A4 & Passat) have a smaller oil pan and are more prone to sludging. The only case of sludging on a transverse version of the 1.8 block i've seen was on vortex (i think). THe guy had the breakin oil (dinosaur oil...) in there for like 30K, lols.
