hey, i use mobil 1 synthetic 0-40 oil with the OEM bosch oil filter. How many miles/months can i go until having to change it again?

 

I think 5-8k if you're not beating on your car. Thats just my opinion of course.

 

I still stand by the rule of 3mos/3k, but usually change it between 2200-2800 miles, nothing but Amsoil and K&N oil filters!

 

3K miles means your wasting your money. You can go much longer than that. I play it safe, and I change my oil every 5K. Audi says you can go almost twice that, as long as you change your filter more often.

Safe option, while still saving some cash, is 5-6K miles for oil and filter, providing you use a decent oil and filter.
