Does anyone have a fix for this problem? My CD changer also spontaneously opens periodically, but not nearly as often as the near daily opening of my first aid compartment.

yup happened all the time with me and finally the latching mechanism completly fell apart, I worked for awhile and couldn't get it to stay back together for more than a day... ended up having to glue it bac together with PVC cement ... don't you love luxury cars!

 

what's weird is that I'll go through stretches where it will stay latched for extended periods (month) only to then go back to it's daily unlatching routine. hoping that there is a better solution than removing the first aid kit and permanently sealing the compartment though?

 

best bet is to get a couple small magnets and put one on the door by the latch and the other on the inside of the compartment by the latch, use a little super glue to stick the magnet to the plastic... seems like that would work ok

i have the same problem. seems to happen when it's cold outside. i'm going to try the magnet idea that sounds like it should work.

 

I also found that flipping the first aid kit the other way helps a little. You want the handle portion facing down. I have the same problem with my cd magazine compartment too. It's pissing me off cuz it looks dumb.
