quick timing belt change advice needed
I'm 6 hours into the project and have hit a few snags. each has been over come given time and the right tools, until now.
we are actually putting the new belt on. following bently. I can't get the belt oover the cam sprocket. is there a trick to this?
the marks all line up, everything is in place.
the belt was sitting outside at about freezing, south dakota, and the garage is about 40. could it be too cold?
project started out fun, now a little frustrating. mechanics earn every bit of it!

It is hard. The way I did it is that I got it halfway on the camshaft pulley and then my son with the ratchet on the crankshaft would slowly turn it and at the same time I would with my hands ease it in. It is doable for sure.
the belt should not be fitted in those temps because it will snap, proper understanding is paramount otherwise it will cost you an engine, correct tools to a point, understanding of what your doing and the implications if you get it wrong
