My car is shuddering when i hold the throttle at 1500 rpms in neutral or in gear. It started with me getting on the highway and it felt like the clutch was slipping. After that it was really hard to put into gear and would shudder when i took off from a stop. The engine itself sounds like its running fine so i took it to the transmission shop that rebuilt my tranmission and put in my new clutch. They think its not transmission related because it was throwing a code they didnt regognize(p1423 Sec.Air Inj.Sys.,Bank1 Flow too Low). I didn't think that would make the car shudder like that. I thought it might of been flywheel related. So I then take it to the audi dealership and they are saying my engine is running fine and that its a tranmission issue. What do you guys think is wrong?

 

Sounds like a classic case of clutch problems to me. Hard to put into gear and i'm assuming that the rpms were revving freely?

 

Not so much, the shifting has smoothed out over time and a little ruff shifting every now and then but the shuddering persists! Im wanting to trade in the car or sell it but want this fixed before i am really able to. I still think its the clutch or flywheel. Im having to argue with the tranmission shop about it because they dont want to fix somethin they are laible for.

 

I have a similar problem, my Audi A4 shudders when i release the clutch in first, it has also done it when changing gears in second, it does not happen all the time and i have done a clutch test by taking off in 4th gear with handbrake on and car stalls.
