My car runs a little more rich than it should for some unknown (yet) reason. Intake and mufflerless exhaust, and I get backfires almost every time I rev it close to redline on hard acceleration. Get some backfires on the downshifts too when Im decelerating quickly. Not exactly something I was going for though.

yea it happens when a car is running rich. and the gases are exploding in the exhaust system. it does sound mean but really doesn't mean the car is fast or anythin. just means the car isn't using all the fuel that is being dumped into the chamber. but lets put it this way better then runnin lean

edit: and ya, on quick rev shifts from 1st to 2nd, or 2nd to 3rd, i backfire. sometimes in 3rd to 4th
