Default temp gauge

I have a problem with the temp gauge, when i turn the key on (without starting the car and the car sitting all night) the guage go to the first mark after the cold mark. I thought it was the temp sensor but I replaced it and nothing it still has the same problem, does anyone have an idea or had the same problem?

Wait that's a problem?

My temp/fuel snaps into place when I turn the key. When mine's been sitting in warmer weather a long time it'll snap to that first bar too.

It snaps to the first mark even in cold weather and when the car is at normal temp ( I think) it reads one mark above half(normal driving).

That was the first sign of my cluster going bad, and also my key to a free cluster.

Dealer I bought the car from glued a piece of plastic to teh back of the needle to act as a stop, because when you turned the key to on, the needle would pin at hot. Thats fraud, and after threatening a lawyer, the used car dealer gave in. (not an audi dealer)
