Thinkin bout TT or S4 suggestions??
Hi im new to the forum. And im looking to buy a 201.5-2002 S4 or 2001 or 02 TT 225. Im 27 and have had two E46 M3's but unfortuntly both where totaled within 6 months. I love the car and would take it all day over any Audi out there but can't afford the insurance for a third run with another M3. I want to know generallywhat it takes to get the TT to 290-300HP and how much. Also im thinkin about the S4 but the style is a little dated it looks old for a 2002 that is why im considering the TT. Finally what does it take to beat A stock or slightly modded M3 with a 2001-02 S4. Thanks a lot maybe il change my mind on Audi vs. BMW after i give the s or tt a try.
Dude!
A TT is like a toy you can ride. Its so much fun to drive, head turner and above all. insurance is not as bad a M3.( unless you get a convertible TT). I had the same dilema when I purchased my TT. I'm very happy with it. The room is not close to the room on a BMW, but if you don't have kids, you'll be fine.

Thanks for the reply. My real concern is how much of a drop off is the performance coming from a E46 M3? And how much $$ is it going to take to get the car to run 5 sec 0-60 or around 300 hP. I would only get the coupe im not afan of converts.
You need to pick a new hobby... Or get a bicycle, because it seems as though you cannot handle such horsepower and or are not responsible enough to have it. Ensurance goes up for a reason, you are a risk in fast cars.
I know how to drive iv had high performance cars since is was 19 so thanks but no thanks. I was side swiped in my first which was not my fault and the other was black ice and rain. Next time u want to insult me get the facts right n dont tell me about responsibility iv bought both cars myself and work 65 plus hours a week those r my only accidents in 9 years of driving. Im not the reason u pay high rates buddy.
Audi seems to be good choice 4 u - black ice reason
TT looks like from the future - people can't belive - specialy here in TX that it's 2000 model
Or instead getting A4 better get A6 4,2 V8 and kick some sport cars but in a luxury limo.

A 225Q with a chip, intake and cat-back would pull away from an m3. A local guy runs a 13.37. Coming home from the dradstrip he walked away from an m3 and a slightly tweaked STi on highway 3rd gear rollers.
Chips are usually $500, $200ish for an intake and the exhaust can be pricey $680-$1000.
An S4 sees 320hp(claimed) with a chip and a drop-in K&N.
It comes down to what yo need. If you have need for a sedan...s4 if you just want a small coupe that'll be fun to drive...TT.
If you like BMw so much better why not just get a 330 or something?
