Default Turbosmart MBC

Today my turbosmart MBC arrived in the mail (I bought it off vwvortex classifieds) after staring at the pictures in Cincy's diode mod post I went out and hooked it up after a few trips down the street and back I got it set at a 16 PSI spike I went over 14 on accident but my question is shouldnt the ECU go into limp mode? and then question #2 for anyone who knows about or is running the turbosmart MBC is the allen key screw on the side for adjusting the boost also?

Getting the boost I lost from the oversized intercooler backmakes me very happy

My boost gauge tells me I get 16 psi spikes stock if that helps.

Is this the in-cabin or just plain under hood MBC? Don't touch the screw, just use the know. The in-cabin will not work in our cars, it will max at 19psi. The underhood works well, I had mine set at 22 or so, but only ran in for a week while waiting for the dual stage which I love! Flip a switch, and whoosh your gone!Your really should not see any spike with a MBC. I had a spike with my N75 but as soon as I put an MBC in, no spike, just peak setting, and the hold.

The **** with thehex key controls the ball and spring (course) setting.
The **** that you can turn freely controls the bleed (fine) setting.

write country, wrong company.

The allen bolt just tightens the **** so you cant adjust it more. A bleed mbc will limit spiking since it constantly bleeds off the boost pressure unlike a b&s which holds all the pressure until the certain psi is reached and the ball lifts high enough for the pressure to pass and reach the wastegate.

Mine likes to hold steady about 21 but will tapper down. I do get the occasional boost creep to 24 butI quickly back off when I catch it. This happenswhen cruising thru the Cascade mountains in the Seattle areaon I90 doing some fun speeds around 75-85Mph.

He already has it installed and tuned.

Dont think a minor spike over will set you into limp on a high load situation
