ok so i finally got VAG-COM. WOOHOO scanned the car 11 CODES !!!! [:@],i clear the codes go around for a boot, rescan the car.

now only 1 code, Bank1 02. i had some issued with having this replaced .. logn story short i got my money back + 100$ for my troubles. now i still need an 02-

shows bank1 sensor 1 , (ill post the code when im back at home)

Question : will a failing 02 sensor cause the EPC to go off onthe car? i have a re-occuring and dissapearing CEL - i am attributing it to the Bad 02. but the car goes into EPC once in a while so im tryign to figure out if that is because of 02 or not.

 

i think it can. That o2 controls the a/f so it needs replaced asap.

 

ithink im seeign the picture, failing o2 can cause bad a/f mix, .. can that elad to a misfire? im leaning towards yes.

i know the misfire can lead to the EPC, or am i way off base.

i got a free 02 sensor with a catback system i got from a obd2 jetta (30$ for the full 2 1/2 stainless with cat,resonator and mufler all magnaflo ). had the vw cat on it with the 02 bung and it is a bosch 02 sensor. if i can compare part #s then i may have abrand new 02,can the bentley give me the part # for the bank1 02 primary?

 

ecstuning has the part #'s. Or atleast i know they do if you type it in as a search

Nate, do you havea VAG-COM. i was messing with it yesterday, just going through the menus etc. you got any exp with it?

 

i dont have one yet. Its on top of my list. ross-tech has a huge how to on the site

 

yea i know, the fact that it is HUGE makes it a little intimidating.

im gonna meass around with it some more today, see how that goes.
