What was your cost? Have you attempted it yourself. I have considered taking a shot at trying it. I have some mechanical ability but have not done a timing belt.

Expect to pay $1000-1200 to have it done.

unless....
You can get lucky like did and found an experienced solo import specialist looking for work.

He was an older hispanic gentleman and first he asked $300 and I said "um, well ok I guess". Later after he found out what the TT was all about he said it would be more, like $400 , but i didn't balk at that either.

You will need a floor jack, stands, the usual tools....3/8 metric set..3/8 universals, Torx bits.....use the Diesel geek parts kit.....2 bottles pentosin, and all the o.e. parts. You do the thermo, w. pump and neck and the tensioner along w/ the serp acessory drive belt and the timing belt. Youll save a grand in labor but if you dont know the basics you might run into trouble. There are some detailed r& r procedures out there with pix and the Bently book is a good reference. The book calls for 6 hours I believe.....you might take 12.
