Where to Start.......
Hello everyone, This isn't the first time I've asked these questions but I am hoping someone can help me.... First I have a 2000 TT 180 FWD. Forge Dv/Bov, Ebay Dp, and autozone cone filter. it has 200200 miles on it (yeah I know nutty) Ok lately in the nice NY fall cold morning weather when i turn my car on it revs really high then will high 1000k rpms and sputter to almost shutting off i have to lightly rev it so it wont do it anymore, 2) When I am driving and press the gas after shifting it will semi-shake or sputter then will go normal... (every gear) 3) my boost gauge always vac's normal but wont boost passed 0. I feel like i have some power but not completly, and it will only seem like it boost after it sputters......4) Sometimes it feels like I have no boost at all until i change gears then it will somewhat boost.... I have all new plugs and 3 new coils one is like... a couple of months newer then the new 3. All the plugs are gapped correctly. 5) my car is loud it def got a little better but it louder then it should my dp is totally connected...... Can anyone help me... And if anyone lives on Long Island or Queens and ive good with these damn cars im down to meet... thanks
Oh yeah and when im driving can completely step on the gas every once in a while the car will buck really hard like as if some has it tied to something and when it reaches the end of a rope it pulls back lol weird way of describing it but i hope you it the point it like loses all power and a ton of smoke comes out of the muffler..... Pleaseee help
step 1. go to Advance or Autozone or something and have them scan for codes.
step 2. tell us what the codes are.
in the meantime, try cleaning your MAF. Actually, you can pick up MAF cleaner while your at Advance getting your codes pulled.
Also, do a pressure test of the intake. Just google 'intake pressure tester' and you'll see a bunch of examples of stuff you can build for cheap. OR buy this, as its already designed for a TT, if you can't build stuff yourself.
If you're not making any boost, you have a big problem, most likely dumping MAF metered air back to atmosphere, and the car is fueling waay rich not knowing any better.

Hey thanks ... I have MAF cleaner, but I don't have my check engine light on will it still spit out codes? And I will get my car pressure tested.. Thanks once igot to autozone i'll try u what it said thanks again
random cylinder misfires would be a result of either scenario I mentioned above. A dirty MAF could do it, a disconnect in the intake (which would screw with the MAF reading) would do it.
Continue on, get that stuff done, and see what kind of results you get.
