Default Why I ask dumba** questions!! PLEASE READ

First, I'm not rich and saved every penny to pay for this car. I'm not every going to sell my car becasue I love it. Second I ask as these questions becasue I want to know more possibilities with my car like what I can and can't do. If I post a thread don't hate on me because I ask dumb questions, I'm just trying to learn thats it. I'm a newbie when it comes to Audi's. I'm a porsche 944 Turbo kind of guy until I had to get rid of it. Anyway so please try to help me out and don't be smart a**es on this forum. Some of you know a lot and others like me dont know anything at all. Thats all I ask.

Asking a question is not the issues here.
I believe the problem falls from not trying to look up the information first. A lot of the topics that you start have been covered many, many times.
Read through the FAQ and then do a search in the TT section of the forum. If you don't find anything or still have questions, then ask.
Everyone is here to help and learn, but by not attempting to look through the pages upon pages of information it gets tiring.

I think it's great that you are so into your car! That's what brings us all together!
Just please search and then ask.

Well put Becca, all we ask here is that people do Search first, it works really well, then if you dont find your answer here then search the forums at audiworld, and also vwvortex. All three of these sites will help you out alot, I have learned alot in the last six month, I have not even had my TT a year yet you just have to take the time and do things the right way. The TT can be a good quarter mile car, and it has the possibilty of showing up some competition but remember that there is always a bigger fish somewhere. But please search first, and dont think that you are the only one on the forum who has gotten this, Us here at audiforums.com kinda have a reputation of being pretty blunt, and straitforward. Take our advice for that is all that it really is. But most of us know what we are talking about, look at how many post the person has, or the mods that their TT has. That will give you a good idea of who knows their **** and who may know or may not. VAG cars are great, but I strongly believe that its not about the car its about the car and ther personallity put together. My TT is like my child and right now its sick with a bad alternator and battery, but its getting better haha. Good luck mate and remember...............TT means TWIN TURBO!

...Good luck mate and remember...............TT means TWIN TURBO!
I have actually had people say things like, "Ah, nice, a twin turbo," whenI have mentioned that I drive an Audi TT. I usually just reply with a "yeah, something like that" comment as trying to explain to them the workings of the car usually only results in a dumb founded look (my MR-2 was the same because it said twin entry turbo on the engine cover). The only thing I would really disagree with 225tt about is the number of posts. Some people here have a lot of knowledgeyet not very many posts or vice a versa have a lot of posts but very little real knowledge. I would say that most of the time if someone gives bad advice here they are usually called out within a few minutes of posting by some of the knowledgeable board regulars.

As far as me giving you a hard time, it is mostly because

1: You asked at least onequestion where a thread that was within the top 5 when you posted already answered your question. (you didn’t even have to search, it was right there at the top)

2: You make comments or ask questions, have people respond with advice, and then total ignore it and then come back surprised by the outcome that others already informed you of.

3: From your own comments, you are doing a hack job to your car before even really learning about it. People have even taken the time to post direct links to detailed information that you seem not to read.
4: You keep making threads asking advice about very expensive mods, yet you are trying to gut your own cats by ramming something through them. And here you even admitted you don’t have much extra money (which is fine, I have been there as well) but you are wasting peoples time to have them respond in good faith to help you where you don’t need help as of yet or in the near future.

5. I am also still very serious; if you can’t afford to mod your car properly and can’t keep it stock then I suggest you look at a different vehicle. These cars are not as forgiving as many others when you perform a hack job on it, although treated right they will last and perform better than many others. This one will only be problems and a money pitfor you and to whomever you eventually sell it to (and I feel sorry for the next poor owner as they will have no idea how abused it was.)

So hopefully that explains the reasoning behind my responses in your threads.

On a side note, I hope you take some time with your vehicle, get to know it and learn about it, be patient on modding it, and have a great time with it. They truly are fun cars withawesome handling, classic lines and great interiors and can be made to go very fast. There is a lot of great advice here if you take the time to read and listen (even stuffI didn't know about andI have built several cars to be in the top categories of useable power/handling capabilities) And finally, welcome to the boards
