Xtool OBD2 Diagnostic scanner fails to connect to ECU
Hey guys, I have an 02 Audi TT 1.8t Base Convertible (ie not a quattro) with 71,000 miles on it.
Right now it constantly kicks itself into "Limp Mode" with the EPC light coming on.
I have purchased an Xtool OBD2 Diagnostic scanner specifically designed for use with VAG cars. I turn the key to "ON", plug the scan tool in and it does power on but fails to connect to ECU.
The car:
My car is BONE STOCK and has the original Bose Radio in it, as I've heard that sometimes there are problems with aftermarket radios.
Also, my top DOES NOT LEAK so unfortunately, that's not an issue either.
I am pretty much at the end of my rope and there are no audi dealers anywhere near me to take it to.
If anyone has any helpful advice, I would be eternally grateful.
