1996 Audi A4 2.8 12v is having fuel delivery issues.

Fuel pump fuse is good
Fuel pump relay is good
Fuel pump is pumping
9 volts to the connectors while cranking

Earlier I got the car to start by jumping the fuel pump with external power, now I can't.

No schrader valve? Any tips, hints or tricks on checking the fuel pressure?

What else too look for?

 

Fuel filter ever been changed?

 

Replaced the fuel filter 2 years ago roughly 15 - 20k miles ago

Went out and bought a fuel pressure gauge and since there was not a valve to test I went directly to the fuel pump put my gauge lines to the feed line and into the feed line to the injector rails after trying to start the engine with the key I got 0 pressure after I manually jumped the fuel pump it was reading 60 - 62 so cranked it over but still wouldn't fire up the car died on me on the free way while I was going 80 had to pull over and never fired up got it home and the fuse was blown changed the fuse and the fuel pump would make the whirling sound as if it was pressuring up but still nothing.

 

Really got to suspect that pump after that blown fuse and your other symptoms. See what someone else says.

 

Turns out it was fuse 34 (Engine Timing). Problem solved.
