Post 1998 Audi a4 quattro transmission

Newbie Here. I have a 98 a4 Quattro auto with 60,000 miles on it. The transmission gave up on me and Im looking to find what other transmission can fit this engine such as can the 1.5 fit this which Im guess is no.

What motor?

What trans, auto or manual?

Not sure what a 1.5 is. Audi trans codes tend to be 01A or 01V.

Jonesy that's the 6 speed manual for a quattro S4. Might also be 01A, 01V. Then when you get past that there's the 3 letter code. This guy just hasn't given enough info to answer his question.

sorry guys for the lack of info. Its a 1998 audi a4 Quattro 2.8 v6 engine with automatic tiptronic AW drive transmission. The VIN is WAUED68D5WA009796. Im not sure of the transmission code. I don't have the car in front of me at the moment, but from some research online I believe the transmission is a 01V. What I meant by the 1.5 is can a transmission from a similar year Audi a4 1.5t engine transmission fit.

Oh,im not sure if it would fit. I doubt you would find one, euro car im pretty sure. We have the 2.8 and the 1.8. Your code is 01A - You need an 01E 6 speed or an 01A - Quattro. Junkyards have these for cheap. Where are you located?

Your best bet would be a local scrap yard, or find a local part out on here or someplace like Audizine or VW Vortex.

I'm sure you could find a used/rebuilt tranny online but shipping alone would keep it from being cost effective.
