1999 B5 1.5 in. drop problems
I'm thinking about lowering my '99 B5 2.8L Quattro A4 1.5 inch. Obviously, I'll replace the shocks and springs but I'm wondering if there are any special tools required or complications caused by lowering the car this much??
Surprisingly, these cars seem to take to lowering quite well. There are many members here running very low and don't seem to have many related reliability issues. Once you get really low, the oil pan and transmission pan (automatic) seem to take a beating.
Which springs/struts are you looking to go with for lowering? Do you currently have stock or sport suspension?
To keep from twisting the bushings in the control arms you can loosen the bolts to the control arms and then tighten them again after you install your new springs.

Thanks for the tip! I'm thinking about koni shocks and Neuspeed springs, I had Neuspeed springs on my VW Scirocco and really liked them, I'm currently running stock springs. I don't want too much of a drop which is why I chose the Neuspeed 30mm(1.5in).
