Default 2000 Audi A4 will not start

I have a Audi A4 2000 that will not start. I have narrowed it down to the clutch, either a safety switch or an relay. I have jumpered the safety switch that is attached to the clutch pedal and I am still getting the message press clutch in to start. So is there an relay I can check? Plus I have read in another thread that the convenience module in the trunk can cause this problem. How do I locate this module in the trunk? I also ran a scan, please let me know if you see something in the codes.

You're getting a **** load of codes. That's going to make it nearly impossible to say "it's that one thing right there".

You're going to have to take care of each code before you assume your problem isn't caused by a code that already exists, which may look as if it's not even related.

That's my 2 cents.

Yeah that's a crap ton of codes.

Clear them all first (you have a record here of what as there) and see what comes back immediately, those are likely your biggest problems. Stuff that comes back after a while may be less of an emergency.

Anyway, your camshaft position sensor will allow the car to turn over but not start.

OP, do you have a 1.8T or a 2.8? You need the crank sensor and one cam sensor functional to start. On a 1.8T that means if your cam sensor is shot you're SOL. If you have a 2.8, it'll run with one bad cam sensor as it can infer the other bank's position based on the readings from one working sensor. In both cars, the crank sensor must be functional.

In your engine codes, the rough road ABS code and the SAP code don't matter for this issue. The cam sensor code and ECU intermittent code are the ones to address. Start with the cam sensor replacement - they're cheap and easy - and try again. As stated, clear your codes and see what comes back, so you can separate old codes that no longer are relevant from the ones your car currently is dealing with.
