Blown headgaskets are more common with turbo engines than N/A correct?

Nice. Now you're getting somewhere. It makes sense that you had more than one problem.

Ok so did some driving and alls good with cooling system so far. But every so often when I'm coming to a stop and pop the clutch in the car does out and when I re start it and so there the idle jumps from 8-900 rpm down to 100-200rpm and back up and down until I drive it till the next light then it will be good the. Randomly might do it again no set time just funky idle

I've forgotten by now, but this is a 96 with the 12 valve V6 right? That has an idle control valve that can get clogged up. Here's a great DIY on how to clean it.
