A4 B5 engine to transmission questions

There is no difference between FWD and Quattro as far as the clutch goes. I've owned both FWD and Quattro B5 A4s.

FWD clutches have a different spline count. They are physically the same size, but will not spline to the input shaft.

They are not the same.. more research has told me the transverse mounted 1.8 T has a 28 spline friction disc vs a 23 spline friction disc.

Glad you were able to figure that out. Though I can't help but wonder why/how this topic came up in an Audi A4 forum

At least with the B5 A4, FWD and Quattro share the same clutch and flywheel.
